For the last video entry I present the tour for the room we stayed in at the EasyHotel Heathrow. Quite a difference from the place we came from in Plakias.

 

Videos: Crete

Videos from Crete include two timelapses, a tour of some caves/tunnels, a tour of our apartment to compare to the place we stayed in London, a baby turtle at the Natural History Museum of Crete, and the effects of the wind on the water in Plakias.

Videos: Santorini

Videos from Santorini include; many views of the Caldera from both Thira, and just above Oia, a view of the black beach, many kittens at Thirassia, and an Ohi Day dance. I also filmed the entire Ohi Day Parade, but that footage is on Danielle's Iphone, so we will have to edit and upload that to this post at a later time.

Videos from Mykonos including a quad ride, wind/kite surfers, a few electrical storm clips, and the view from atop Delos' highest point.

In the very last second of this video you can quickly see a boat being abandoned and slowly sinking as the other boats rescue the passengers; pretty cool stuff eh?

Really this post should have come before the Athens video post, but things don't always go as they should. Anyway, the videos from Corfu are: Danielle going full-out girl over some kittens, the craziest electrical storm we've ever seen, Costas (sic) bicycling his quad, a beautiful sunset clip, a strange baby animal, a weird kitten

breastfeeding, and my personal favourite; a home made music video for Con te partiro, starring Danielle.

Plakias, Crete, Greece

The small town of Plakias on Crete had been highly recommended to us by multiple people, and so from Heraklion, we took a long bus ride to the town. The drive wasn't super enjoyable, but there was good scenery, such as a massive gorge, beautiful beaches, mountains galore, and a plethora of solar panels. Once we arrived, we walked a kilometer or so to our hotel, The Horizon Beach Hotel; because it was now into the off-season, most places were closed or partially closed, including Horizon Beach. Due to this fact, there was no included breakfast with our room, but to make up for it, the owners gave us money off, as well as upgraded us to a full villa free of charge. It was the biggest place we stayed at the entire trip, aside from Uncle Robert's.

The week we stayed in Plakias, was probably the most easy-going of all the stays of our trips, as there wasn't much going on in the town; we spent most of our time either at the beach, or walking the mountain roads exploring. On two of the days, we walked the mountain roads up to two smaller towns; Sellia, and Mirthios, which felt pretty 'authentic'. Another day it rained like crazy, and we just wandered around Plakias, checking out some dirt roads and then watched movies/read. Really close to Plakias' main beach were these tunnel things that were pretty crazy, I googled it, and found an article which said that they were made by pirates or something, as Crete was very popular with pirates. Since we had our own kitchen, we made some pretty good meals, as well as went out this one night and had some more authentic Greek food. Overall, Plakias was really chill, and a good way to say farewell to Greece and the Mediterranean.
