Florence

Our stay in Florence was a stormy experience, the first two days were good weather in the morning, but come around 16:00, thunder, lightening, and monsoon rain struck. Despite the rain, Florence was beautiful, especially south of the river Arno; the walk up to, and the Piazzale Michelangiolo, are gorgeous, as well as the Boboli Gardens. The landscape north of the river is not as beautiful, but holds its own with its stunning architecture, such as the buildings within the Piazza del Duomo. Our accommodation in Florence at Hotel Paola was our best yet behind our stay at Uncle Robert's in Berlin.
